Caleb & my 2014 plans.
The Lord has given us plans to
finish what is necessary,
so we can move on to do what is possible {news we CAN’T WAIT to share with you all!!},
and finally, He will help us to do what is impossible.

Right now we are just tying up some lose ends
before we announce the big news
the Lord has in store for us.

More Than We Could Imagine

His work in us
 
These verses above are ringing so true in my life right now!
I am overwhelmed with the blessings the Lord has begun to reveal to my Hubby and myself recently.
I have always had big dreams, but the Lord’s dreams are clearly even bigger than I could have imagined! {as if that should surprise me- ha}
He is at work in me and I pray that He will continue to work through me.
I cannot wait to share some exciting news ahead!
As much as I hate secrets, this one must stay a secret until the Lord’s timing is right and He has given us more answers.
We are in a season of praying, seeking, and waiting.
And for what might be the first time, I am actually learning to enjoy & savor this season of waiting.
I’m nervous and excited to see what the Lord is going to do.
There is an unquenchable thirst within me
and my heart is doing tumbling in my chest.
Glory to God!
He. Is. Good!!

Life is too Short Not to…

Life is short. Okay, some days seem like they go on forever, but in reality life is fast like a “fleeting shadow” (Psalm 144:4, Psalm 89:47). Recently, the Lord has been teaching me a lot about being intentional with my short time here. I want to spend more time doing what fires me up, what brings joy to others, and ultimately brings glory to God. This past weekend I spent time working on my goals and I realized just how many dreams the Lord has given me. So I made a list. What is most important. This list is kind of my, ‘life is too short not to…’ list. Lara Casey coined this month Intentional August. So in continuing with this theme I want to encourage you to make your own list. Pull out a piece of paper and finish the sentence below. Then make time for these little blessings because life is too short not to!

Season of Waiting

Over the past month or so my Husband and I have been in a season of waiting. As a planner and goal setter, this has been especially difficult. But the Lord has been using my study on Ruth to help calm my anxious heart.

While reading through Ruth I have watched Ruth wait to see fruit or direction in her life. After months of hard work she is given some direction and after taking the initiative she is led to another season of waiting. But her story also teaches that even while she is waiting and it seems as thought nothing is happening, God is still working.

In this season of waiting my Husband and I are still setting goals, still working towards these goals, and continuing to wait on further directions from the Lord.  What do you do in your times of waiting?

Intentional August

proverbs 16-3

Happy Monday! This weekend I finally finished writing out most of my goals and the steps required to achieve them. No more coasting for this girl! 🙂 Intentional August is off to a beautiful start. This month I am being intentional with my goals, my time, and my relationships. I am beginning each day with my espresso, my quiet time, and looking over/praying over my schedule for the day. At the top of each of my pages I wrote Proverbs 16:3. I truly believe that as long as I commit my plans to the Lord & am persistent in prayer I can achieve my goals and be intentional with my time.

Messy Bits

For as long as I can remember summers have been filled with family, friends, Kanakuk, Saturday’s waffles of wisdom led by my dad, the lake, and traveling.  Thinking back to previous memories has made me quite nostalgic for summer vacations spent in various European cities, Morocco, and many other beautiful countries. As my Husband and I have begun talking about our future trips (and by future I mean we have not made any definitive plans, just dreamed and made loose plans) to other countries we have begun watching every movie we own that takes place over sees and across the pond. One of my favorites is ‘Letters to Juliet.‘  While I love that whole movie, there is one line that specifically stands out to me.

“Life is the messy bits…”

I love this. As a very goal oriented person I sometimes find myself living in the future and not embracing the here and now. I want to see the end goal. But this line from ‘Letter’s to Juliet’ is a beautiful reminder. Life is the messy bits… not just the final result (Tweet This)
