On a Mission

It is on my bucket list to go on a mission trip that lasts longer than a week. I have been so blessed and would love the opportunity to bless others. My little brother (whom I am SO proud of) has gone on a mission trip over every spring break of his high school career and always comes home with life changing stories. He just recently came home from Guatemala. (Please notice his OU shirt in the picture!! Yes, he will be a sooner next year!!!) His group was told they made a larger impact on the community than any other group that had ever come through!! (Yes I am bragging on my brother!)

They literally dug through cement so they could lay pipes for plumming

When Cameron comes home I always have the strongest desire to go on a mission trip myself. Instead, I end up going back to school. Until about a year ago, I had never thought about school as being my missionary field (or where ever I am living, working, playing, etc). It IS my mission trip.

Our job everyday is to be a missionary. That is what the gospel calls us to do. Opportunities will find us each day and we should also seek for opportunities to share God’s love and grace.

At Lifestream last night they asked a couple questions for us to ponder.

What are the things you seek?
Are these things as precious as someone’s soul?

Are you ready/confident enough to share your faith with someone? In Matthew 17:20 the Bible says if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you can move mountains, certainly the Lord can do something with you.

How thankful are you that the gospel reached your ears?

What are you going to do about it?

“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel.” Philipians 1:27

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Galatians 5:13

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
